Don’t know if it was the sweet pairing or the cigar, but only flavor from the cigar was leather and pepper. Good burn and draw but would not smoke again because of the flavor
this was a solid cigar from Ashton. Lots of floral notes and some citrus as well with nuts. This was a pleasant cigar. It wasn’t my favorite due to my palate but I do suggest people try this cigar.
Very very smooth. Started out cedar and nutty, nice creamy transition to second third, hit of spice, then it just builds to the finale (which is full-bodied, molasses with the hint of cedar that was present throughout except for the transition in the middle).
Excellent draw, burn line remained razor's edge perpendicular throughout, good smoke volume and the ash never dropped on its own.
Definitely belongs in the upper tier. VSG seems a little rough around the edges, comparatively, but they're both very good. Worth having around for those occasions when you get to take a victory lap.
A wonderful blend with an immediate kick of black pepper. It pulled back a little on the pepper and presented creamy crackers and a touch of sweet earth and wood. The strength is definitely there and the smoke was dense and chewy. My only complaint is with the construction. I expected a little more form Ashton. The burn was terrible and required touchups throughout. The ash was brittle and held less than an inch at a time. I definitely plan to pick up a few more with hopes that they will burn better.
